HEAT WAVE CONTINUES TO TAKE ITS TOLL ON AMERICA
by Anonymous

Oviedo,FL - As the heat index rises and the heat wave moves into
it's third week in some parts of the country, health officials
warn that we must find a way to cool down.

Whether it's El Nino or La Nina causing it no one really knows.
What they do know is that it's dangerously hot out there. As the
heat wave continues, the summer of 2001 is turning out to be a
very hot one indeed.

Every year over 175 Americans die from heat exhaustion. When the
heat index (a combination of the air temperature and humidity
combined) reaches above 105 degrees, heat becomes dangerous to
our health. This can occur anytime the temperature reaches into
the 90's.

In 1980, 1250 people died in one of the worst heat waves in
recorded history. Cities are especially dangerous as the concrete
reflects and intensifies the heat.

WHAT CAN BE DONE?

"The good news is that cooling products have been created that
can really help," says Dennis Havard of MiraCool.

MiraCool products contain super-absorbent polymer crystals that
hold a 1000 times their weight in water. When worn against the
skin, they cool the blood circulating through the body from the
outside in, safely and effectively. Some of these products cost
as little as $5 and can be used anywhere.

Fortune 500 companies have discovered that they have fewer heat
related health claims and increased productivity when they
provide workers with personal cooling products.

These products offer the balance of effectiveness and
affordability that practically anyone can enjoy. They can be used
anywhere by anyone. Some can be re-used thousands of times and
don't need to be refrigerated or frozen to be effective.

"People must find a way to stay cool that is portable and can be
used at a moment's notice. Some people may have the option to
come indoors where it is cooler, but a lot of outdoor workers
cannot," says Havard.

The products are safe, affordable, and effective for the very
young, the elderly and can be used indoors or outdoors. They even
work on pets.

According to Havard, "given their practicality and
affordability, there is no doubt these products can save lives."
