September 24, 2004 -- CensusCD 1980 in 2000 Bondaries is the first and only source of Census data from 1980 that is expressed at all of the 2000 Long Form geographies. In the official 1980 census only had limited tract and block group coverage. One reason this product is so valuable is because it has complete national coverage at the block group, tract, and MCD. In addition, we have added MSA, CMSA, and PMSA geographies, whose concepts were being formed in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s but whose geographic boundaries were not yet assigned in the 1980 census.
